Pre-school Art

(Day 9 of NaBloPoMo)

Well, we are starting to see lots of pre-school art trickle in when The Superhero comes home from school.

Since the kids have never gone to school we have only had the occasional piece of art come from church. But, now that school has started, it is a whole different story. The Superhero likes to display his art on the fridge, as I show in the picture below.

BUT, I know, I cannot keep EVERYTHING.

So, how do you decide what to keep? How do you explain to your kids, or do you explain to your kids that you are not keeping everything? Or do you just let things "disappear"?

I know I will keep the beauty below, it was the first one he brought home and is VERY representative of his favorite color, green. :-)

OMGoodness...you just took me back a few years. I would sneak it out to the recycling while the kids were at school. We usually keep a couple of items from each school year. It does become overwhelming for sure.

I like his use of green...almost looks like camoflage up there on your fridge.

Yeah, papers just disappear around here. School papers are hard to "toss" but I can't keep all of them so at the end of the school year I go though and keep two or three of my favorite.

Ya that is so hard to get rid of their work. We have a box down in the basement for each girl and I will pic some of their work and we keep it in there...the rest gets tossed when they aren't around. They usually never notice that it's gone. It hangs on the fridge for a while then disappears.

I purge when the kids aren't looking. I have to be safe and take the trash out, or else they find their beloved art and ask, "Mom, why did you throw this out?" as if it's a masterpiece.

You can scan or take photos of the stuff you toss.

I'm a big believer in getting rid of things when they aren't around. As long as they aren't very important to my little ones.

His picture is so sweet. Brings back a lot of memories!

Take a picture of everything one by one then toss them, at the end of the school year up load them and turn them into a photo book! You get to choose the cover on most sites, I like to use the class photo for my cover :)

Wow...Love Chasiti's idea....wish I had thought of that 3 years ago!

Stuff just has a way of disappearing around here. I don't know what happens to it.

Must be the elf.
