Sugar Bolus: Faith, Hope, Cure: Juvenile Diabetes

Christmas day at my parents house we were opening up our gifts as we always do. I got to a gift from my brother's girlfriend, V. This was unexpected because in our family, we "grown" children draw names and only buy for one other "grown" child each year.

So, why did I have a gift from V?

Well, apparently she can sew.

My gift was 2 HANDMADE re-usable grocery bags!

Yes, I said HANDMADE. She is amazing and so were these 2 bags.

Not only are they handmade for ME, they are of course, Diabetes inspired.

She made them BLUE (for World Diabetes Day) and had them embroidered to say "Hope Faith Cure Juvenile Diabetes".

AMAZING.

The fact that she took the time to make sure they were the right color and she incorporated something so near and dear to me, meant the world.

So, why am I telling all you this?

Great PJ World Diabetes Day Giveaway!

This contest comes to you courtesy of PJs for a Cure.

PJs for the Cure are specially designed women's and children's pajama sets from Komar, the #1 sleepwear manufacturer in the country.

Komar donates 100% of all sales of these special PJs to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

Yep, you read that right! 100% Isn't that great?!

The wife of Komar CEO Charles Komar was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and thus, Mr. Komar founded PJs for the Cure in an effort to raise $1 million for JDRF.
Wouldn't you like to snuggle up in your very own set of PJs for the Cure?

Well, Komar contacted several of us bloggin' D mamas with an opportunity to give away free PJs, and we united for a mega giveaway to celebrate World Diabetes Day! It's a Super Sugar Bolus!

(Just so you know...My fellow D mama bloggers and I are neither getting paid by Komar nor are we receiving free PJs for hosting our giveaway contests. This is simply a fantastic opportunity to spread the word about the great work that Komar is doing to support the research for a cure!)

Diabetes Art Day 2010

(Day 1 of NaBloPoMo)

So, Lee Ann from The Butter Compartment had this BRILLIANT idea to start a "Diabetes Art Day". No creativity necessary, just come up with something to create using Diabetes as the inspiration.

I know several of my fellow D Mom bloggers are participating, so I finally decided we would join the fun!

I am NOT a creative, artistic person, but had this idea...

The World Diabetes Day symbol is a blue circle...

And I knew we had blue Animas Insets...

So I came up with this...

And THAT's as creative as it gets around here!

AND...

Don't forget to check out Hallie's art and enter for her "SWEET" contest at the Princess and the Pump.
